VİTSAN’A GENEL BAKIŞ

Vitsan Mümessillik ve Müşavirlik A.Ş., is a service
organization for the insurance and marine industry.

The founder of VİTSAN was Sir James
W.Whittall, an English gentleman who had
settled in Istanbul in the 19th century.
The organization was initially established in
1873 as Whittall and Co. Ltd., and later in 1968,
it was made a joint-stock company under the title
of VİTSAN Mümessillik ve Müşavirlik A.Ş.

At the beginning, due to conditions proper to Turkey, the company was involved also in other commercial activities, but as of 1979, its orientation has exclusively been towards insurance, survey and damage indemnity services.

At present, the entire capital of the company is owned by Turkish shareholders.

With its appointment in 1897 as Lloyd’s Agent at Istanbul, Whittall and Co. Ltd., the initial simple partnership, became more strongly established, and VİTSAN A.Ş., its successor, was presented a special certificate and shield one hundred years later in 1997 on the occasion of a century-long uninterrupted agency services by the Council of Lloyd’s to mark the centenary of their appointment as Lloyd’s Agents at Istanbul.

VİTSAN has been the Lloyd’s Agent for the Black Sea, the Marmara, the Aegean and the Western Mediterranean regions of Turkey, and the more recent appointment of two separate VİTSAN Group companies for Azerbaijan and Georgia made the VİTSAN Group, one of the biggest Lloyd’s agencies in the world in terms of territory.

The main framework of this system involves quality objectives, reliability, implementing customer requests and requirements in the appropriate form on time.

Vitsan Inc.'s main task is to improve Quality Management System continuously within the scope of these principles, develop and increase the effectiveness of our policies by explaining them to our employees in the organization by providing the necessary resources to achieve the objectives of the organization.

With the aim of providing professional services that will make us different, we are establishing good relations with our customers to work in close collaboration and realizing expectations in the most effective way.
